Yesterday at the Central Officers’ House of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Valerii Zaluzhny, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, met with representatives of the military-diplomatic corps accredited in Ukraine, as well as the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the NATO Delegation to Ukraine.

During the event, military diplomats were briefed on the military-strategic situation around Ukraine and the current security situation in the area of the Joint Forces Operation.

Commenting on the security situation, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stressed, “The military-strategic situation around Ukraine remains tense. Everything that is happening now is a consequence of the weak reaction of the international community to this April's escalation. If more effective measures had been taken then, there would have been no blackmail through the use of military force, energy and the "migration" crisis”.

According to Lieutenant General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Kremlin's military activity poses a threat not only to our state, but also to other European countries.

"The aim of Russian hybrid aggression is not only to return Ukraine to its sphere of influence, but also to undermine Euro-Atlantic and European security in general. Therefore, the response to the aggressor must be consolidated," he stressed.

At the end of the meeting, Lieutenant General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, thanked the military attachés for the assistance and support provided by their governments to our country and, in particular, the Ukrainian army. He said, “The Ukrainian people and I as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we have great international support. So next year we will be even more active in developing our military friendship and cooperation!”
