"This symbolic event in a sacred place for Ukraine emphasizes the importance of historical and national values in modern military service. Askold's Tomb symbolizes the struggle for Ukraine's freedom. Taking the oath at this place is a manifestation of respect for the heroes and a link between generations," said Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

The DIU recruits, who swore an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, joined the ranks of military intelligence due to the first recruitment campaign, "Stav Plus."
