In January 2025, the number of appeals to the “I Want to Find” project regarding missing servicemen of the aggressor state in the kursk region, where the soldiers of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to kill and capture russian soldiers, increased by 29%.

Since August 2024, the “I Want to Find” project has received 3,081 appeals regarding missing russian soldiers in the kursk region. Of these, 691 were received in January 2025.

In the 13 months of its operation, the “I Want to Find” project has already received 60,600 requests for missing servicemen of the army of the aggressor state of russia. This number does not include the dead and is two to three times less than the total number of missing russians, as not all relatives have yet submitted requests for search.

“I Want to Find” is a separate project of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which was launched in January 2024 to facilitate the exchange of prisoners of war.

The project provides information on the stay of russian military personnel in Ukraine as prisoners of war, which allows their relatives to seek from the russian authorities the status of prisoners of war, their inclusion in exchange lists, and the conduct of these exchanges.
