On March 31, a delegation from the Republic of Lithuania, led by the Speaker of the Seimas Juozas Olekas, delivered the latest batch of aid for military intelligence officers. DIU representative Andrii Yusov met with the Lithuanian partners in Kyiv.
“Lithuania has been and remains shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. We understand very well what it means to fight for freedom and sovereignty — and that is why supporting Ukraine is not a matter of choice for us, but a matter of principle. Until victory!” stated Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas.
The delegation included the Speaker's advisor General Saulius Stripeika, Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, representatives of the Lithuanian parliament, the diplomatic corps, volunteer organizations, and business.
“We are glad to welcome our Lithuanian friends. We thank the embassy team, volunteers, citizens, and specialists of the Lithuanian Defence Forces — this attention is of great significance for the Ukrainian military and for our entire nation,” noted Andrii Yusov.
The DIU representative presented the Lithuanian partners with military intelligence insignia, the book DIU Island. Secrets. Operations. War by Maksym Butchenko, and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among the gifts was the commemorative coin “Ukrainian Bavovna. MAGURA Unmanned Surface Vessel” dedicated to the innovative DIU development that changed the course of hostilities in the Black Sea.
Separately, Speaker Juozas Olekas was presented with a painting by Sloviansk artist Serhii Smetankin: a Ukrainian house painted on an ammunition box lid. It was presented to the friends of Ukraine by Oksana Poviakel, Director General of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Folkways of Ukraine in Pirohiv.
Ukraine and Lithuania maintain a constant friendship and partnership — in addition to material support for the Ukrainian military, representatives of both states jointly participate in international conferences on strategic communications, exchanging experience in information work during the war against russia.
Glory to Lithuania! Glory to Ukraine!
