The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has closely monitored situation regarding the preparation of the russia’s armed forces for a full-scale invasion since spring of 2022. This is suggested in the article, prepared by Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, which is published in edition of Public Research Organis    ation “Ukrainian Technology and Strategy”.  

The representative of Ukraine’s military intelligence notes that a large-scale war has expanded the capability of military intelligence. Units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine strengthened their capabilities and achieved new capacities. In particular, new types of intelligence have been developed. The capabilities of cyber intelligence began to actively enhance, new means of signal intelligence began to be used, significant attention was paid to the creation and employment of UAVs. Analytical units began to apply new methods of analysis and forecasting the development of the security environment.

Since the beginning of the year, the DIU employees have gained enough information for important forecasts, and the analysis made it possible to understand the entire panorama of the enemy’s actions, including knowing the locations of all battalion tactical groups and timely tracking the movement of groups of the russian troops that were created near our border. The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine was ready that a large-scale offensive would begin in early February or little bit later.
