American lawmakers have included in the 2022 defence budget $ 300 million for allocating funding for military assistance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The defence budget for 2022 authorizes $ 770 billion for military spending, which is 5% more than last year's budget. In particular, it provides:
$300 million for supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
$4 billion for the European Defence Initiative;
$150 million for Baltic security cooperation.
The financial document also included $ 4 billion for Russia's military deterrence.
The document has been approved by the House of Representatives, the Senate has to consider it and the President of the United States has to sign it.
