A critical situation has developed on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in terms of ensuring stable and safe operation of the plant. There are almost no spare parts and consumables.
During the capturing the station, one of the russia’s projectiles exploded near one of the power units. This resulted in an oil leak. The damage was repaired, but the staff were forced to pour spent oil into the circuit.
Work at the plant is currently being carried out on a shift basis. The shift lasts for one week.
The personnel of the occupying forces involved in the protection of the Zaporizhzhia NPP are mainly accommodated in the ‘Ukrainf’ hotel and in the premises of the station’s health care center. The invaders are also using flats belonging to Ukrainian citizens, who were evacuated. There is a strict access regime at the station. The occupation forces are confiscating almost all personal belongings, especially telephones, from the workers on each shift.
The management of the station is studying the possibility of connecting the station to the russia’s power grid. However, this is not possible due to technical reasons.
