Occupiers Plotting Next Provocations at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Involving Heavy Weapons
July 19, 2023

The occupiers are likely plotting to set up in the near future yet another armed provocation on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. To this end, the ‘military counter-intelligence department’ of the fsb is circulating information among the personnel of the occupation contingent about the alleged preparation by the Ukrainian Security and Defence Forces of an assault operation targeting the ZNPP.

The occupier’s special service has claimed that an "assault" on the nuclear plant will take place at the end of July. "Assault groups" and unnamed "volunteer armed units of Ukraine" are allegedly supposed to take part in the effort.

The spreading such information may indicate that the occupiers are preparing a "false flag" operation that will lead to a large-scale accident at the ZNPP. Another simulated shelling of the ZNPP is currently being prepared with the aim of further accusing Ukraine of it.

This is to remind that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was seized by russian occupation forces on 4th March 2022. Since then, there have been repeated reports of mines on the territory of the plant, several power units and the cooling pond. The rashists' irresponsible actions have repeatedly led to the violation of nuclear safety standards and the creation of emergency situations at Europe's largest nuclear facility.

Such actions are an act of nuclear terrorism. Ukraine has repeatedly stated that nothing but the return of the ZNPP to full control of Ukraine and the IAEA, as well as the creation of a wide demilitarised zone around the plant, are able to guarantee the safe operation of a nuclear power plant.
