Thanks to the use of electronic intelligence, DIU specialists, among other vital tasks, also obtain evidence of war crimes committed by russians. This includes, in particular, the execution of prisoners of war.
Extrajudicial executions of their own soldiers who refuse to go into a meat assault are also a common practice of the invaders.
An intelligence officer of the DIU EW unit talked about it in an interview with RBC.Ukraine."
"The commander of the second battalion of the 164th brigade of the 25th army of the russian federation personally shot two russian servicemen, and this was said without any explanation at all... Maybe so that we could hear... He openly ordered his subordinates to shoot [the military] because they refused to go into battle," the intelligence officer said.
He described one of the most illustrative cases of russian assault actions in the Lyman area when the occupiers were ordered to force the river.
"The river is small, but it is difficult to cross easily. Our men, having the advantage of height and knowing who was before them, began to destroy them. And the russians were sent to assault again and again. [...] Then they took a small bridgehead from us. Do you know how? Thanks to the crossing. Only it was made from their corpses. And they crossed over their corpses. They don't care about their own people at all," the scout said.
