On November 27, 2024, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov addressed the participants of the International Veterans' Forum "Veterans - the Way Home", which took place in Lviv.
"Representing Ukraine and the veteran community here is a great honor. Our war is ongoing, but even after the Victory, its consequences will catch up with us for a long time. We must prepare to overcome them effectively," said Kyrylo Budanov.
He emphasized that unity is always vital to Ukraine's defense and strength.
"None of us were born for war. But we have accepted this challenge. We will defend our border, families, property, culture, and honor. However, we must remain united in times of war and peace. It is better to go to Victory together, not alone," the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine emphasized.
During the forum, a roadmap for the development of state policy on veterans, interaction between veterans, members of their families, family members of perished, missing, and captured persons and authorities, communities, and international organizations was presented.
The forum included thematic discussions, pitchings, and presentations of new veteran projects.
The Forum "Veterans - The Way Home" was organized by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, and the Inter-Factional Deputy Association "Rehabilitation Forces of Ukraine."
The USAID Rada: Next Generation Program, Lviv Regional Military Administration, and veterans' organizations supported the event.
