“Kremlin Is Most Afraid of Regime Change and Fragmentation of the russian federation,” Vadym Skibitskyi
December 22, 2023

During the discussion “Ukraine and the World Ahead 2024”, Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, voiced two of the biggest phobias of the kremlin's leaders.

“What are they most afraid of? Very simply, two things. The first is a change of regime in moscow. And the second is the fragmentation or disintegration of the russian federation. Accordingly, in order to preserve this, russia is pursuing the policy that it has today,” said Vadym Skibitskyi.

russia’s objectives in the war against Ukraine for 2024 are to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintain control over all temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

“putin’s goals for the so-called “special military operation” were not achieved either in 2022 or in 2023. He simply postpones them to the next year,” Vadym Skibitskyi noted.

The de-occupation of all the territories seized by the aggressor remains a strategic task for Ukraine. In this context, active actions on the Crimean peninsula, according to the representative of Ukraine’s military intelligence, will have an impact on other parts of the frontline.

“Today, Crimea is a transit zone for the supply of all weapons, ammunition and personnel from russia to our southern regions: Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions,” reminded Vadym Skibitskyi.
