Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, and his deputy, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, met with members of the American Foreign Policy Council, a U.S.-based think tank specializing in foreign affairs and defense.
During the meeting, DIU leadership and American analysts discussed Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States and the evolving security landscape in Europe.
Budanov emphasized the importance of applying the "Peace Through Strength" doctrine — a principle articulated by U.S. President Donald Trump — as a foundation for stopping russian aggression and restoring stability on the European continent.
"I thank the United States for its consistent and tireless efforts toward our shared goal: a strong and lasting peace," Budanov said.
He also expressed hope for the further development of bilateral strategic relations, underscoring the importance of granting Ukraine the status of a major non-NATO Ally (MNNA).
Major General Vadym Skibitskyi warned that russia's expansionist policy threatens not only Europe but also global stability.
"That's why the international community needs to make it clear: aggressive policies come with devastating consequences for those who pursue them," Skibitskyi noted.
He also stressed that strict sanctions enforcement and a united, decisive international community response are key to deterring aggression.
