Russia Has Unsuccessfully Tested ‘Yars’ and ‘Bulava’ Missiles, Nuclear Weapons CarriersOn November 1, 2023, the aggressor state of russia conducted an unsuccessful test of the RS-24 ‘Yars’ intercontinental ballistic missile, which is the main component of the ground-based component of the russian strategic nuclear forces.

‘Yars’ missile was launched from the pliesietsk cosmodrome (arkhanhelsk oblast) at a target at the Kura test site (kamchatka) by a combat crew of the 33rd missile army of the strategic missile forces of the russian federation.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine data, the ‘Yars’ missile went off course, as it did during the previous command and staff exercises of the strategic nuclear forces of the aggressor state of russia on October 25, 2023.

Similarly, a test launch of the RSM-56 ‘Bulava’ ballistic missile from the Borei submarine missile cruiser failed on October 25, 2023, which once again proved its unreliability.

moscow also has serious problems with the heavy mine-based ICBM RS-28 ‘Sarmat’ – one of the key projects in the process of modernization of the strategic nuclear forces of the russian federation announced by the aggressor.

The ‘Sarmat’ missile has been developed in russia since 2009. According to moscow's initial plans, it was supposed to be adopted into service 5 years ago, in 2018, but the date was constantly postponed.

In the end, the ‘Sarmat’ was adopted only in September 2023, after the first and only full-scale test conducted in April of this year.

Compared to the Ukrainian-made RS-20 ‘Voyevoda’ ICBM, the ‘Sarmat’ missile created to replace it lacks any advantages in design, warhead, or methods of overcoming missile defence. In fact, the ‘Sarmat’ is an unfinished, imperfect, crude missile.

The aggressor state of russia also faces difficulties in its intentions to improve the air component of its strategic nuclear forces. As part of the partial modernization of soviet bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95S, the russians have the ability to process 1-2 aircraft annually.

The delivery of new Tu-160M2 strategic bombers scheduled for 2023 has been postponed to a later date, as the russians have failed to resume production of a new version of the NK-32 engine.

All of these problems of the strategic nuclear forces of the aggressor state of russia are a direct consequence of the sanctions policy of the civilized world against moscow for its war against Ukraine, as well as the inability of the scientific, technical and industrial bases of terrorist russia to produce the necessary components to replace imported ones.
