Victory Day Propaganda Abroad: russia Plans Pro-kremlin Events Across Europe and North America
May 6, 2025

As May 9, 2025 — the day russia marks its so-called "Victory Day" — approaches, the aggressor state is intensifying its network of influence agents worldwide. The kremlin has coordinated propaganda events in major cities across Europe and North America.

In Prague, events under the banners "Restore Relations with russia" and "80th Anniversary of Liberation from Fascism. We Cannot Have Peace" are scheduled for May 7–8, 2025. These events will be organized by the pro-russian, anti-government movement "Ne zakladnam CR." On May 9, the group plans a procession through central Prague, allegedly to "honor the victims" of World War II. The Czech Communist Party has also announced a series of events glorifying the soviet red army across the country.

In Sofia, the "russian house in Bulgaria" plans a May 9 propaganda event under the "St. George Ribbon". Meanwhile, in Brussels on May 6, a roundtable will be hosted by the russian house under the theme of "joint Soviet and Western resistance to Nazism" — an effort to fabricate solidarity narratives.

In London, russian affiliates are preparing a theatrical reenactment of 1945 events. In Warsaw, a "Wall of Memory" initiative by the local russian house.

In Bucharest, the russian embassy is organizing a flower-laying ceremony at the "Unknown Soldier" monument, which is expected to serve as a platform for state-sponsored propaganda speeches.

Additionally, russian organizers in Romania aim to draw broader public participation, including children, through an initiative called "Decorate Your Windows with Symbols of Victory." On social media, soviet-russian iconography and narratives are being disseminated as part of the campaign.

The russian house is planning an international forum titled "Memory of the Victors" for May 11 in Verona, Italy.

Another event, the "European Peace Project," is set for May 9 in many European countries — an initiative aligned with russian messaging.

In Canadian cities, including Toronto and Montreal, russian operatives disguised as members of the civic group "Immortal Regiment" intend to conduct motorcades and rallies featuring soviet-russian symbols. Planned activities include themed concerts, workshops for making paper carnations, screenings of soviet-era cartoons and films, and participation in a musical "Immortal Regiment" event broadcast by the kremlin-controlled channel "russia 1."

Similar parades and rallies are expected in Washington, D.C. (USA), Munich (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Belgrade (Serbia), Naples, and Genoa (Italy), among other cities.

Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reminds the international community that the russian federation continues to distort the history of World War II, promoting myths of "victory over fascism" as a tool to justify its ongoing criminal war against Ukraine and expand its malign influence abroad.
