A memorial plaque was installed on the building of Statistics College at the street that has been recently renamed in the honor of the Hero of Ukraine Yurii Kovalenko. The place for plaque chose a wife of fallen officer.

The relatives, friends, combat sworn brothers and college’s students came to pay tribute to courageous Special Forces man. The commander of the separate Special Forces regiment Oleksandr Trepak was given the right to open plaque in the honor of Yurii Kovalenko.

The Hero’s father – Victor Kovalenko – during his speech thanked all the attendees for honoring and keeping in mind the feat of his son. “There is a memory for generation. It is necessary that we have such Heroes who laid down their lives for the sake of our quiet life”, – he noted.
