The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, presented award pistols to the warriors of the 80th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: soldier Denys Sokorchuk, senior soldier Artur Pashkevych, senior soldier Yevhen Lykha, junior sergeant Oleksandr Yehorov, senior sergeant Mykhailo Varvarich.
The paratroopers carried out several vital operations at the front with the military intelligence officers. They demonstrated high professionalism and courage, particularly in the battles for Voznesensk, Antonivka Bridge, and Chornobaivka. They were severely wounded in combat.
"We are all honored to receive awards from General Budanov. A good, reliable weapon is the best honor for a soldier. We serve the Ukrainian people!" said the paratrooper.
Over the years of the russian-Ukrainian war, the airborne soldiers have received many state awards. One of the paratroopers was unable to personally receive his award weapon as he was undergoing treatment after being wounded again.
In addition to continuing to serve and defend the country, the paratroopers are active volunteers, organizing charity events to support combat units.
Kyrylo Budanov thanked the soldiers for their heroic and dedicated service to Ukraine.
"You are the pride and strength of Ukraine. Each of you proves on the battlefield that Ukrainian paratroopers are always the first. It is also symbolic for me, as I graduated from the Airborne Troops Faculty of the Odesa Institute. Let's keep fighting!" said Kyrylo Budanov.
Honor to the Ukrainian paratroopers!
