Major General Kyrylo Budanov, chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, and the heads of DIU units met with Epiphanius, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

Intelligence officers discussed with the Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine the current situation of the Ukrainian liberation war, the liberation of servicemen from captivity and the prospects for the complete liberation of Ukraine. Kyrylo Budanov emphasized, “The decisive period of the war is coming. We need the help of every Ukrainian and God's blessing. I’m convinced that Ukraine will have a complete victory over the enemy and will liberate all of occupied territories.”

Metropolitan Epiphanius of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine noted a great importance of national unity and thanked the Ukrainian defenders who are bringing victory closer, “God endows a person with certain talents and abilities. Therefore, at this difficult time, everyone has to devote its strength and abilities in order to defeat the russian invaders. Because something depends on each of us and all of us in unity are able to succeed in countering the aggressor. I thank you for selfless struggle to protect Ukraine. The enemy is fierce and cunning, so may God protect you and strengthen your wisdom to destroy the insidious plans of the occupiers.”

The Metropolitan honoured Kyrylo Budanov with the Order of the Holy Great Martyr Yurii the Victorious. Three other officers of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine received the Order of the Archangel Michael from His Beatitude.
