The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov met with the Director of Military Intelligence and Security of Sweden Lieutenant General Thomas Nilsson.
The heads of the intelligence services of the two countries observed a minute of silence and laid flowers to honor the feat of military intelligence officers.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the Ukrainian and Swedish military intelligence agencies and emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation to counter threats and challenges to Europe from russia.
Thomas Nilsson emphasized the unique role and heroism of the DIU servicemen during the russian-Ukrainian war and assured that the Swedish intelligence support would last as long as necessary.
Kyrylo Budanov thanked his counterpart for his assistance. He expressed confidence that the strength growing due to the current reliable cooperation based on the long historical tradition of military cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden will help protect our common values of democracy and freedom.
