Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, has taken part in “Brave Hearts” programme and spoken about the role of intelligence data in planning and conducting operations of our Security and Defence Forces in the Black Sea, as well as the importance of successful naval missions.
According to him, after the liberation of the so-called “Boyko towers” (oil and gas drilling platform), the russians have lost the ability to conduct reconnaissance in the sky, on water and on land. However, Ukraine has begun to actively use oil and gas drilling platforms.
“Today, the drilling rigs are being directly used. We won’t tell you how, but this has certainly narrowed the enemy’s zone of influence and expanded the capabilities of our Security and Defence Forces, in particular the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, other components, and special services to conduct further successful operations in the Black Sea and, in fact, in the temporarily occupied Crimea,” said Andrii Yusov.
An important stage of the struggle against russia in the Black Sea was also the de-occupation of Zmiinyi Island.
“When the Island was captured for some time, it seemed that its liberation would be impossible: the enemy over-deployed personnel, firepower, electronic warfare, anti-aircraft missile systems, and means on Zmiinyi Island that threatened the Ukrainian southern coast and could ensure further [russian] actions, including planning landing operations against Ukraine. And not only Ukraine. We are also talking about the security of Moldova,” said Andrii Yusov.
All these moscow’s plans have disappeared after the defeating the russians at Zmiinyi Island.
“russian false propaganda calls it as “a gesture of goodwill”, but in fact it is the result of an operation, hard work, serious planning, and heroic deeds of Ukrainian defenders who liberated Zmiinyi Island,” the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine underscored.
