The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine carried out all the necessary measures to expose the enemy’s plans and intentions, to stop russian troops’ advance along the entire front line. Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, told about these in an interview with “Kyiv Post”.

“We understood that it would also be necessary to counteroffensive actions in the Kharkiv direction. First of all, because of persistent threat to Kharkiv, russian invaders are still shelling the city,” Vadym Skibitskyi said.

According to the representative of Ukraine’s military intelligence, it was necessary to stop the offensive pace of the russian federation, primarily in the Donetsk direction. Therefore, all necessary measures were taken to prevent the advance of russian troops in Donetsk region. Within a month, russian commanders redeployed all the troops to the south. It created the conditions for successful actions of the Ukrainian Army in the Kherson and the Kharkiv directions to develop this success.

“It was clear already in spring that the russia’s weak point is Balaklia. In June, we understood that carrying out an offensive in the Balaklia direction is possible. The actions we planned in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions – helped to develop the overall success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The main goal is the de-occupation of all captured territories,” summarized Vadym Skibitskyi.
