Foreign components, which russia is used for production of weapons, are getting into aggressor state through the countries that have not joined the West’s sanctions.
This was stated by Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Vadym Skibitskyi noted that a number of components for the aggressor country’s military industry enters russia under the guise of household goods, and one of the common mechanisms for circumventing sanctions is the creation of one-day firms.
“In some countries, russia creates either joint ventures or opens enterprises that exist for a day, a week: products are imported, and then this enterprise disappears,” the represnetatve of Ukraine’s military intelligence explained.
According to the DIU representative, the solution to the problem of sanctions evasion largely depends on effective export control.
“By the way, it is not only about components. There are other issues related to the manufacture of weapons: modern machines, software, certain materials and substances that russia needs. All this is under primary control today. In order not to allow the restoration and increase the production on the territory of russia, our task now is to clearly identify what the russian military-industrial complex needs, what kind of components the aggressor state uses and what it lacks,” said Vadym Skibitskyi, having noted that Ukraine focuses a considerable attention on issue concerning russia’s circumvention of sanctions and works with international partners on its solution.
