The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has released a classified telegram signed by Major General zemskov, acting Chief of Staff of russia's Southern Military District.
The document contains an order from the Commander of the Southern Military District of the russian Armed Forces regarding the urgent "reinforcement" of russia's military base in Gyumri, Armenia.
According to the telegram, personnel are to be selected from among russian servicemen of the 8th, 18th, 49th, and 58th Combined Arms Armies of the Southern Military District.
"The commander of military unit – field post 04436 – is to select personnel from May 13 to June 11, 2025, within formations and units of the district, for the conclusion of initial contracts and further deployment to the military base," the document reads.
The commanders of the listed units have been instructed to actively assist in selecting candidates for deployment to Gyumri.
The order specifies strict requirements for professional fitness, psychological resilience, and combat training of those who will form part of this so-called "international contingent."
It explicitly prohibits the selection of individuals previously involved in drug trafficking.
