Collapse of Discipline in the russian Army: Over 600 Deaths in the Central Military District Due to Chaos, Unsanitary Conditions, and Drug Abuse
November 10, 2025

Throughout 2024–2025, more than 600 servicemen of russia’s Central Military District — one of the five operational districts of the occupying army — have died as a result of systemic disorder, criminal behavior, and negligence within their own ranks.

Causes of death include alcohol and drug overdoses, violent altercations, extreme unsanitary conditions, and command negligence.

In particular, at least 71 servicemen committed suicide in 2024, while 86 soldiers and officers took their own lives in the first half of 2025 alone.

Meanwhile, poor food quality and violations of basic hygiene standards in unit kitchens and field camps led to the deaths of 32 russian servicemen from food poisoning.

Drugs continue to kill occupiers as well: in the first half of 2025, 112 deaths were recorded due to narcotic intoxication, nearly matching the total for all of 2024, when 143 personnel died for the same reason.

The surge in suicides, crime, and drug use among russian troops reflects severe moral and psychological degradation of the occupying forces.
