The Herbera can be used as a kamikaze drone, and also conduct electronic reconnaissance, in particular, to detect air defense positions.

This UAV imitates the Shahed-136/Geran-2 and is massively used by russia to overwhelm Ukrainian air defense.

Due to the use of cheap materials like plywood and foam, the Gerbera is approximately ten times cheaper than the Shahid/Geran. However, the structure of this drone contains a set of non-russian-made components.

Studies of downed samples have shown that the russians are producing Gerberas based on a Chinese prototype using foreign components imported from China.

The Chinese aircraft model manufacturing company Skywalker Technology Co., Ltd is known as an original UAV developer. It also produces fuselages and organizes supply of some components to russia. Deliveries are made through third parties.

The Gerbera's Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) contains chips from Analog Devices (USA) , Texas Instruments (USA), and NXP Semiconductors (Netherlands) .

The universal flight controller also includes components manufactured by Texas Instruments (USA), Atmel (USA), STMicroelectronics (Switzerland), U-Blox (Switzerland), NXP Semiconductors (Netherlands), and XLSEMI (China).

The UAV is equipped with a Chinese Topotek KHY10S90 three-axis gimbal camera and Xingkai Tech Mesh Network XK-F358 modem for pilot guidance and aerial reconnaissance.

The DLE60 engine is manufactured by the Chinese Mile Hao Xiang Technology Co, Ltd. In the summer of 2024, this company was sanctioned by the United States for supplying to russia.

The War&Sanctions portal also published the component base of the russian “Parodiia” UAV, which the aggressor state uses to overload Ukrainian air defense and hit more civilian targets.

The engine of the “Parodiia”DLE55RA is also manufactured by the Chinese company Mile Hao Xiang Technology Co, Ltd.
