Daily morning ceremony on commemorating the perished defenders of Ukraine was held today at the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.

Relatives of perished Heroes, representatives of leadership and structural units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guards of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, cadets of the Kyiv military educational institutions took part in the event.

In the course of ceremony, Memory Bell was sounding ten times, one of them in honour of Junior Sergeant of the 54th reconnaissance battalion Pavlo Lytvynenko.

Pavlo was killed on March 17, 2016, while performing a combat task near Hnutove village, near Mariupol. He was posthumously awarded the order “For Courage” for personal courage and high professionalism, displayed in protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath. He was also awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of Obukhov”.
