On January 20, Ukraine honors the defenders of Donetsk airport.

This is an important chapter in Ukraine's modern struggle for freedom, woven from thousands of the DAP defenders' personal heroic stories.

We remember the feats of strength and courage of those involved in the 242 days of defense and honor all those who died in the battles against the occupiers.

The DIU soldiers were among the “Cyborgs” who defended the airfield and destroyed the russian occupants and their mercenaries.

In May 2014, a group of Special Forces under the command of the legendary military intelligence officer, Hero of Ukraine Maksym Shapoval, was the first to enter the airport in combat - the enemy suffered significant losses. The facility came under the control of Ukrainian forces.

We honor all DAP defenders whose strength, will, sweat, and blood are already described in Ukrainian history textbooks.

They held out - the concrete did not.
