Commander of Special Forces Group of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Has Said the Following about Liberation of Dmytrivka and Kapitanivka: “Most Part of Busters Were Annihilated, Others Have Fled”

On March 31, the DIU Special Forces was tasked, together with other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to take part in the operation to liberate the settlements of Dmytrivka and Kapitanivka (Kyiv region).

The operation started at 5 p.m. According to the commander of the DIU Special Forces group (his call-sign ‘Tytan’), the main difficulty for performing the task was that part of the civilian population remained in the villages. It was necessary to think about that nobody of them get suffered during a battle. Offensive operation began from the side of Petrushky village and the russians were forced to retreat outside of Dmytrivka towards Zabuchchia village, “We crossed the Zhytomyr highway. A couple of shots were fired from tanks at us. When we walked into Dmytrivka, we made them leave the village. That is, we did not enter the active phase of the battle with them. When they were already leaving Dmytrivka, there was an active phase of the battle”.

The occupiers had 21 units of heavy equipment, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. From our side, eight tanks, infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and DIU Special Forces group came into the village. “They had losses – nine units of heavy equipment, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, as well as up to 50 infantry men… They all retreated. But the most part of servicemen were destroyed”, ‘Tytan’ recalls.

‘Tytan’ has separately addressed the residents of liberated villages with a warning regarding the early returning in their abandoned homes, “It is currently dangerous to be there. Specialists on mine clearance are currently working.”
