Kyrylo Budanov, "Babyn Yar Is a Tragedy that Cannot Be Forgotten. Evil Must Be Punished"
September 29, 2024

Annually, on September 29, Ukraine commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Babyn Yar, one of the most horrific episodes of the Holocaust.

In just two days, on 29 and 30 September 1941, the Nazi Sonderkommando shot more than 30,000 Jews in Kyiv. In total, about 100,000 people were executed at Babyn Yar.

"We commemorate all the victims of Babyn Yar. This is a crime that cannot be forgotten and reminds us of the terrible price of compromise with aggressors. Our memory of the past and present unhealed wounds inflicted by moscow criminals shows that totalitarian regimes that deliberately plan and implement mass war crimes have no right to exist," Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said.

Eternal memory to all victims of the Holocaust, the genocide of the Jewish people.
