Aggressor Will Search for New Tools to Spread Disinformation

Aggressor Will Search for New Tools to Spread DisinformationAfter the kremlin approved topics and narratives for the next stage of information war against Ukraine, the russians will search for new ways to spread disinformation.

This was said by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andrii Yusov in an air of the telethon “United News”.

“They will search for new speakers who are ready to act as newsmakers, new media that can be consciously or unconsciously used as platforms for the placement of such narratives,” Andrii Yusov said.

According to him, some of kremlin’s influence agents have been either exposed or have been losing their effectiveness; and this fact is pushing the russians to search for new tools to discredit Ukraine.

“The aggressor spares no expense for this. Whatever sums are allocated for information warfare - and it is tens of millions of dollars - it is always cheaper when compared to the costs on the battlefield. Information and psychological operation, despite its expensive cost, is more profitable than investing in the battlefield: 100 computers are cheaper than one tank,” the DIU representative added.

Andrii Yusov reminds that a propaganda topic, approved at a recent meeting in kremlin, is aimed at destabilizing Ukrainian society, destroying the anti-putin coalition and weakening the support of partners.

“There is nothing particularly new there, to varying degrees it has already appeared. They said, “there is no success in the counteroffensive” and “a completely corrupt state” - there is no need to support it,” he said stressing that Ukraine will continue opposing these narratives.

Andrii Yusov also urges the Ukrainian society to be critical of information, to trust only verified sources and media, as well as not to refer to information from anonymous sources.
