"Aggression Against Ukraine Has Been Ongoing Since the Collapse of the Soviet Union, Not Just Since 2014" – Vadym Skibitskyi
March 26, 2025

The representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi, stated this during the roundtable discussion "New Contours of European Security."

He added that the kremlin has projected 15 possible military conflict scenarios up to 2045, six involving Northern Europe.

"Northern Europe understands this, as do the Baltic states. Poland understands it as well. There are four potential military conflict scenarios involving Poland alone. Poland now fully recognizes this as a direct threat," Vadym Skibitskyi noted.

He also stated that moscow has developed a geopolitical forecast for 2026–2035, assessing its consequences until 2045.

"russia has clearly defined in these documents that the 'Ukrainian issue' must be resolved by 2026. Suppose the war continues for another 5–10 years. In that case, russia will never be able to reach the level of the United States and China," Skibitskyi said.

In conclusion, he emphasized Ukraine's crucial role in shaping a new European security system.

"Our country's role in recognizing and developing new approaches to European security is invaluable," he stressed.
