On December 6, 2014, during grand meeting on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, First Deputy Head of the ATO Major-General Mykola Popelskyi read out the Decree of the President of Ukraine – Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the presents and handed a Combat Banner to the command of the 140th separate center of Special Forces of Ukraine.
According to the service regulations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a Combat Banner is a symbol of honour, valour and glory and he defines the peculiarities of combat assignment, history and merits of military unit.
During the holding of counterterrorist operation, the scouts of the center have been performing and continue to perform the special tasks on the sectors of the front and in the deep rear of the enemy. Majority of these tasks, many years will not be subject to publication. The courage and heroism that personnel of the center display in protection of territorial integrity of Ukraine not only highly appreciate by the top state leader of Ukraine but will be an example for fostering of new generations of patriots of our state in the future.
