Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Adopts the Law of Ukraine “On the Introduction of Martial Law in Ukraine”

The Decree of the Head of State stipulates the introduction, for a term of 30 days, of legal regime of martial law in regions of Ukraine that border on the Russian Federation and Trans-Dniester – in Vinnytsia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions and inland waters of the Azov-Kerch water area.

During martial law, constitutional civil rights and liberties can be restricted only in accordance with laws and the Constitution of Ukraine and exceptionally in the case of escalation of warlike situation and strengthening the Russian aggression.
