Inhabitants of Cherkassy opened a memorial stand in honour of fallen reconnaissance man Commemoration meeting dedicated to the opening of memorial stand in honour of school-leaver Yevhen Podolianchuk took place in museum of Cherkassy specialized school № 3.

Clergymen of Cherkassy Eparchy of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate, representatives of teaching staff of educational institution and local military registration and enlistment office, members of Scout Association “Plast”, relatives and classmates of Yevhen took part in this event.

Yevhen Petrovych Podolianchuk was born on July 4, 1991, in Cherkassy. He was an active participant of Scout Association “Plast”. In 2012 he graduated from intelligence faculty of Army Academy named after hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi. He served as a commander of reconnaissance group of the 3rd separate regiment of Special Forces.

Yevhen Podolianchuk was one of the first who stood up on the protection of integrity of our state. On September 14, 2014, he heroically perished during defence of Donetsk airport.

For personal courage and heroism reconnaissance man was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi 3rd Class, insignia “For Merit before Cherkashchyna” and the highest award of “Plast” organization – “Iron Cross for Merit in National Liberation Struggle on Establishment of Ukrainian State”.
